Schools make the best murals

No, really.

Facial exzma pandemic

Not the most artistically excellent, or the best proportioned, or even the most appropriate.

No, it's more to do with the environment. Rough, unsuitable walls, not sealed properly. Not really sufficient money to do the job properly. Lack of focus on maintenance afterwards.

So we get fading, peeling, weed growth, damage...

I love it.

The Bach

You know what a bach is? In New Zealand, it's a beach house. Usually just used for holidays, and generally furnished somewhat arbitrarily, with old and funky items that aren't needed any more in the real house.

The Bach Cafe is intended to carry the same atmostphere and feeling. It doesn't do a bad job, and that was what made it seem the idea spot to show off some of my rust pictures.

Corrugated iron walls, were the ideal backdrop, and the owner was keen. All I had to do was print and mount the appropriate pictures.

Taking sides

Thirteen images were on display for the month of April, and I was lucky enough to be allowed to leave them there a little longer.

It was a great experience. I have an opportunity to show some of the images elsewhere next month. I'll let you know...

You can see the rest of the set here.

Fresh

It's a new thing.

So very yellow

I've tried to run this as a regular website, as an occasional something-or-other, and probably as a whiteboard. It didn't work. I never got back to it, never spent the time it needed to be maintained, and never let anyone know what was happening.

I'm hoping this format will be considerably less effort, and that I can present a better selection of my recent work. I'd love to hear what you think.
